Maybe doc can explain. Obviously the bases thing is lost on women so I assume it's something along those lines.

Not that I can recall. I know we always phrase things "let him do this" or "let him do that" when we talk to our girlfriends. Well, not always, but we say that when we don't know if we really should have "let him" do anything at all.
I can't for the life of me think of a single analogy of any kind that we use when talking to our friends about what we did with a guy.
Speaking only for myself, I know I phrased things completely differently when I (at the minimum) had not ruled a guy out as a potential boyfriend. When I knew I had no intention of anything other than what had already occured - it was "let him". When I was still determining his potential or when I was sold it was "we had this amazing..." or whatever. "We" instead of "let him".
