Absolutely awesome episode, you're right. The only part I didn't love was when they drove through that impoverished town with the annoying "anti-drug" slogans on their cars. Also, hating on La Paz, but that's just Clarkson's shtick. The death road part was really scary, got my heart rate up just watching it. I didn't want the episode to end.thrill wrote:This week's episode of Top Gear was awesome. Road trip from Bolivian Amazon to the Chilean coast in 4x4's.

Re: TV Thread
That's a really good point. Every single person on that show has ceased being likable. The entire cast is loaded with one anti-hero after another banging into each other. They're all dirty in some way (except for Walter, Jr. I guess, but he doesn't count).cpebbles wrote:It's a little amazing that Breaking Bad can still be this captivating after it's stripped you of any empathy for any of the characters.
And yet, I'm enjoying the show as much now as I ever have. Last night's episode was amazing. It's still my favorite show on TV right now by a wide, wide margin.

I'd like to check it out, but I'd have to get the DVDs to catch up. Hopefully they put it up on the Netflix instant queue sometime soon.

For whatever it's worth, the first season is only 7 episodes. At this point, halfway through season 3, they've had 26 episodes total, or the equivalent of two full seasons of your run of the mill HBO/Showtime show.

Well, you know how difficult NetFlix made things up until now. You had to go to a website, log in, add the movie to the queue, sit on your butt for a couple days, walk to the mailbox, open the mailbox, walk some more, open the movie.....just a chore.JL21 wrote:For whatever it's worth, the first season is only 7 episodes. I started watching Breaking Bad last night. I'm only 4 episodes in to the first season but I'm already hooked. The acting is incredible and there have been several omgwtf awesome moments, like when the you know what in the bathtub crashes through the ceiling. Holy hell was that awesome.

I remember when my wife and I borrowed Seasons 1-3 of the Sopranos from a friend. We were some lazy sumbitches that week.

Re: TV Thread
i just started "twin peaks".. i dig lynch but had just never seen the series..
i'm almost done with season 1 and i like it a lot.. it takes a while to get used
to the hokieness and the bad acting, but the soundtrack rules and the FBI
agent that kyle mclaughlin plays is fantastic
season 2 is 22 freaking episodes though.. that's ridiculous
