Yet Another Driving Rant

Post by Molly »

Don't freakin' turn right in front of me and DRIVE SLOWER THAN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it's ridiculous that I have to wait for a left arrow with absolutely no oncoming traffic.

driving in the left lane for the sake of it really pisses me off

the left lane is the passing lane!!!! pass and get the heck OVER....sit up and straighten your hat while you're at it

Were they texting? I had a left arrow issue a couple of months ago where I just wanted to smack the obliousness out of the numskull. The arrow is on a sensor, and the person first in the turning late was like 50 feet from the white line which caused the entire cycle without an arrow. People honking, her looking around with this stupid look on her face, without a clue as to what people were honking at or the problem she was causing. Light turns again, and she's 49 feet from the white line and AGAIN no turn arrow. At this point it gets dangerous, because people are now trying to move past her in the turning lane and then she starts creeping forward.

She never knew what happened.

I flipped off a little princess in a Mercedes the other day because of her texting and driving. She pulled out like molly described and then proceeded to drive erratically and nowhere near the speed limit. I've about had it with the texting/cell phone users and driving. At work they actually have a new policy that you can not use any cell phone device including bluetooth and drive on campus which I think is good. It counts as a moving violation, and if you get 3 in 3 months you get a suspension. And by law they can only suspend a minimum of 1 week, so people have stopped using their cell phones etc.. on campus.

....and when merging onto the highway, for God's sake!, accelerate to the speed limit before jerking your car into traffic. there's a reason a 100 yd merge lane was paved. DO NOT enter traffic doing 30 mph in a 65 mph zone.

jim, the left arrow is an actual electric signal for the left turn lane. It's downtown at Tucker & Chouteau. At 7:30 a.m. there is hardly any southbound traffic on Tucker yet to turn left (west) on Chouteau, you have to sit there and wait for the damn arrow!

As for Princess Mercedes, you should have nailed her ass. I"m reminded of the Kathy Bates line in "Fried Green Tomatoes" after the young gals in the little car steal the parking spot she was waiting for: "Face it girls, I'm older and have more insurance!"

this is why I want a huge grill guard on my truck: so I can ram idiots off the road

A couple weeks ago, my friend and I drove to his parents' place in Illinois to pick up his bed. Some dbag in a cavalier cut me off, and then maybe half a mile later, a cop with a motorcycle waved him over and ticketed him. The cop wasn't even on his bike, he was just standing in the median and pointed at him and motioned him over. Hooray for a success in the system.
