I guess I shouldn't complain too much. They did give us Penn Station, for which I am grateful.

But let's at least get Cinci's mayor on the phone and discuss a possible trade of a few Imo's franchises for a couple Skylines. I'd be willing to even include a Lion's Choice, though we may have to use that bullet in a trade with KC for a Gates.

Mmmm...Gates. I think I'll swing by there this weekend. One of the few perks of living in Olathe.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Cardinals are "out" on Roy Oswalt.
St. Louis is believed to be Oswalt's preferred destination, but the Astros' demands are believed to be sky high. The Dodgers aren't making any progress on a deal, while the Phillies could satisfy the Astros without making a separate deal involving Jayson Werth. The Phillies are currently conflicted as to whether to take the payroll hit and part with more prospects.

This is a last minute bluff right?

They'll call Mo at midnight begging for something?

If wade wants to dump some salary he could. I'd love seeing Oswalt on the cards just because I'm a fan of his. Factoring everything in, I don't know if my rational side believes it can be done.

That said, if any GM can screw it up, it's Wade.

If they want to keep a 33 year old pitcher making 16m a year who has no interest in being there, that's their prerogative. No one is going to overpay for him, and if a team does they'll be the worse for it.

Exactly. And wade is stupid enough to think he shouldn't trade him within the division.

That's pretty much accurate. They don't have to move him, but they would benefit from doing it. I'm going to bet that he doesn't go anywhere until he's actually staring FA in the face and the 'Stros feel like they have to get something for him.

You know what, though? They'll get a lot more for him now than they will in a year. If he comes back and doesn't have a sterling season, it could really bite them in the butt. When you're out of it, it's almost always a good idea to move a player when he's at his peak.

Wasn't that one of Whitey's famous quotes?

Something along the lines of "It's better to trade a player when he's at his peak and risk him being an All-Star for someone else than it is to keep him on your team and risk him getting injured/sucking it up/being a waste of a roster spot."

didnt Roy Oswalt say that he will never approve a deal to the Phillies? so regardless of whether the Phils have the pieces, Oz still has to approve any trade...
