Re: Trade Rumors - Cards looking at Oswalt?
If the Phillies deal goes through, they'll have $150M in payroll commitment for 2011 before filling out the bottom part of their roster. Happ has really struggled this season and I think he's a season-ending injury waiting to happen. Can't wait to see the other parts of the deal because there's not much in the farm system above A ball.

I doubt Wade would have worked so hard on deal if they didn't consult with Oswalt first.st.lewis11 wrote:Oswalt has yet to approve the trade, still not a done deal.

I would like Roy to come play here. I hope that means something.

Re: Trade Rumors - Cards looking at Oswalt?
Jon Heyman of SI.com hears that the Phillies were discussing sending left-hander J.A. Happ, right-hander Vance Worley and two pitching prospects to the Astros for Roy Oswalt.
We've heard a wide range of rumored deals, some even including first base prospect Matt Rizzotti, outfielder Anthony Gose or relief prospect Scott Mathieson. We've also heard that the Phillies might receive some cash as part of the deal. Assuming Oswalt waives his no-trade clause, we should all find out the specifics soon enough.

It's like being told you'll be given Pappy's for dinner, but it turns out to be the severed arm of a homeless man named Pappy, but you eat it anyway because at least it's better than the dog turd you were going to eat originally.vinsanity wrote:I hope Wade got some good prospects and is really high on Happ or else I'ma be pissed.

from the rumors of what's coming back for him, it doesn't sound like he worked very hard at all.AdmiralKird wrote:I doubt Wade would have worked so hard on deal if they didn't consult with Oswalt first.st.lewis11 wrote:Oswalt has yet to approve the trade, still not a done deal.

Is the homeless guy's arm cooked, or raw? And is it like some sort of tribal thing where, by eating him, I absorb his power?cards2468 wrote:It's like being told you'll be given Pappy's for dinner, but it turns out to be the severed arm of a homeless man named Pappy, but you eat it anyway because at least it's better than the dog turd you were going to eat originally.
