Joel Sherman is reporting that the Padres are out of the deal. And it's just Westbrook and prospects for Ludwick to the Indians.

This makes no sense for the Indians, unless they gonna flip Ludwick right away to another team..

interesting- moving Ludwick to fill up the pitching hole seems odd to me. I am not that big a fan of Jay and the other outfielders.

Its hard not to think that this makes our RF worse as soon as Jay gets exposed.

Looks to me that the Cards were going to move Ludwick because they couldnt afford Westbrook's full $2M trading bonus. Since he waived it, it looks like the Cards were able to get it done without the payroll relief that the Padres were going to give them so Luddy will stay.

I'm a Luddy fan too. Mixed emotions about this, especially if it only fills a 4/5 slot in the rotation.

Now if we were plugging a MI hole too, I'd feel better.
