Heard this: If the CLE/STL/SD thing goes through, the Padres will send money and a prospect to the Indians.

That doesn't even make sense. Why would the Padres be sending money to the Indians? If anyone should be getting money to help pay a salary, it would be the Padres themselves (for Ludwick) or St. Louis (for Westbrook). Why on Earth would the Indians receive money, too?

This is making my head hurt. Maybe I'm just missing something really obvious.
