I can't blame him, I think this trade is [expletive].

In theory the Cardinals could be a better team after this trade, but they accomplished that by trading a good player for what we can generously call an average player. Goldstein should rip this trade.

Apparently Rick Ankiel has been traded to Atlanta.

ETA: And Miklasz says Hawksworth is moving to the pen.

It may just be a timing thing, since Westbrook can't start tonight.

We ran through the rotation projections in the GDT and neither Suppan or Hawk have to start again if Lohse can make it back within two weeks. Hawk won't start again until a week from Tuesday as it stands anyway.

Todd Wright of Sporting News saying Jose Bautisa for Jonathan Sanchez. We'll see.

maybe Cards will "piggy back" soup and hawk like is often done in spring training when there is competition...that way we can guarantee there will only be 1 throw away game every 5 days. It could be seen as a "bullpen" start.

someone asked on the espn link about Cards and MI...said they searched for MI help but guys like Stephen Drew had an "astronomical" price tag. Also mentioned that deals are steal being reviewed and announced...could hear something about them getting someone but probably found price tags to high.

I liked Ludwick a lot and have no idea who Westbrook is, so I'm sad.
