Lohse allowed 3 home runs in 4 innings at Memphis tonight. Not good.
Craig hit 2 homers for Memphis. Good.
Why can't Craig hit those homers for us... Please bring him up the first day he's available. You don't make this trade if you don't have big plans for Craig.
I firmly believe that he can, Fat. He hasn't been given a real consistent opportunity. As (I think) you've said before, he can be Ryan Ludwick at some point real soon. His minor league mashing isn't a fluke.

What does this mean? You'll pay me a $1 million if it turns out it's true?
Concerning your first statement - Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday are pretty much the only players that don't get "shuffled". So should we assume that Larussa hates everyone else on the team except those 2?
It's also true of Molina, of course, since he obviously can't play everyday. But like I said, La Russa is an adult. If you want to stick words like "hate" into my mouth, then there's not much point in discussing this with you.

Today made me think what it would be like if Albert re-signed but the payroll was kept constant. That would be even worse.
Albert re-signing but the payroll not going up would be worse tahn Albert signing somewhere else?
Yes. Then you are the Astros.
You're only the Astros if you consciously avoid investing money in the draft so you can spend it on Carlos Lee and Brandon Lyon. If you invest the money well, you can be the Braves.

He'll have to catch the ball to be Ludwick. You like to ignore that aspect of the game.

Oh, I'm with you. Just bemoaning the fact that he's stuck in Memphis bombing away and Jay is going 0-4 tonight.
And I'm not criticizing Jay, everyone knows how I feel about Jay. It's just you make this move and you can't bring up the real replacement for the guy you traded because he's stuck in Memphis so that MacLane or Walters or whoever was brought up and in case Hawkspan wet the bed.

When have I ever ignored that aspect?
We were discussing his bat. I guess I should have specified.
You'd better hope that somebody can be Ludwick, because even without the trade, he probably only had 2 months left as a Cardinal.

This more or less insignificant trade makes you ponder whether one of the greatest players of all time will re-sign with the Cardinals?
I don't see the connection.
Since you asked, I do feel a little sick about this trade, so then I got to thinking how I would feel if we lost Albert.
No reason to really feel "sick" about the trade. As I said, it will end up being almost insignificant, all things considered.
No, it's not insignificant. The Cardinals are extremely thin. Outfield is one of the few surpluses they have/had. Ludwick may have been traded in the winter for someone who could help for more than 10 games. They traded him for next to nothing.
