It's only the 2nd cut of 3 draft classes under Devaney, that's a pretty good ratio.Centreville wrote:Yet another wasted draft pick..what else is new ?

I wonder how the amount of our draft picks "wasted" would stack up against other franchises. Which ones would you say were wasted? Hill?Centreville wrote:Yet another wasted draft pick..what else is new ?

When he said "wasted", I thought he was referring to the Devaney era(2008-now). Wasted ones would be the whole entire 2007 Draft Class(with Clifton Ryan being the only one left over from it), 2006 Draft Class(except Adeyanju and maybe Setterstrom), 2004 Draft Class(excluding SJ, Chillar and Hargrove have done well for other cities, but not here), 2003 Draft Class(not a bad one, but none of the players are still here and the fact Kennedy was the 1st round pick makes it look worse), 2002 Draft Class(Eric Crouch Draft, but we got our Long Snapper in Massey) and the worst of them all, the 2001 Draft Class(3 1st Round Picks, none of them with the Rams still and Pickett it is good while Lewis is mediocre).TGantz wrote:I wonder how the amount of our draft picks "wasted" would stack up against other franchises. Well, the Rams have what, three useful players? And one of them was a free agent. That's a lot of wasted picks.

Re: St. Louis Rams 2010 Season Thread
The track record of draft picks in general making a team and lasting through a first contract and beyond isn't very good. But considering how high the Rams have drafted for practically a decade, they really should have more talent on their roster.

RB-Jackson
DE-Long
OT-Smith
MLB-Laurinaitis
FS-Otagwe
Potential:
QB-Bradford
WR-Gilyard
All going to be relatively major contributors to the team right now.

You're forgetting Saffold. He is just as important as Smith. I know people hate Devaney for passing on DeSean Jackson for Avery, but Avery has been the #2 WR in the '08 Draft behind Jackson. The '07 Draft is the one that makes me mad. We took Carriker and passed up Revis, who was picked right after Carriker. Willis was picked either 1 pick or 2 picks ahead of Carriker.

I did forget Saffold, who could be a great draft pick for us.cardslesson101 wrote:TGantz wrote:RB-Jackson
