Why not picket/protest outside for free?
I don't know the story but I doubt this was a serious protest against the team. Probably drunken shenanigans after watching your team blow it. I don't support making fun of rape, but I've done and said stupid things while drunk before (I'm sure you guys have too). That's probably what this was.
How is campus life dealing with all of this? Is there much of an outcry? Or will it be forgotten in a few weeks?
It happened a year ago and nobody really said anything then. It took a long time until SLU had a hearing (likely to not interfere with any legal process that could come from it, but to my understanding, the girl dropped charges).

The story itself is very different based on who you ask. I've heard some say they two players raped here. I've heard where it was alcohol being involved so the girl went to the police the next day. I've also heard that they just happened to be at the location where the alleged raping took place and they were easy targets. So nobody really has any idea what happened.

Personally I wasn't going to attend any games this year unless SLU treated the players like any other student. I think they did, so I've gone to a few games already.
I think it's incredibly stupid for the players to even put themselves into that sort of situation whether it happened or not (but I believe it did happen). I've heard that the SLU hearing was a little one-sided and biased towards the girl, but that might just be PR from the other side. I'm happy SLU is treating them like anyone else, and they aren't getting a free pass.

I think, as a fan, I'm just frustrated that it happened right when the basketball program was really starting to gain momentum...oh well...

Back to basketball, Loe is looking like the real deal...and here's hoping Jett can run the offense in a year or two. McCall may have more polish, but Jett has more raw tools & upside. Looks like a nice 1-2 punch from the top of the key down the road.

There's a whole lot of stupid from all parties involved, but it doesn't sound like a crime occurred. If you don't say no or physically resist you aren't being raped. Even if they planned to "run a train," I don't think they raped her. It speaks to the character of the players, though. They aren't rapists, but they are scumbags.

LOL, so true. Sounds like a game of he-said, she-said...who the hell knows what happened...especially if booze was involved. Whole lot of stupid going on that night, but I guess that helps solve the mystery of Jordan & Jay...a lot of us thought they left because they didn't get along with the big M.

I would have kicked out everybody involved in the case because of how much they're damaging SLU's image.

I was repulsed while reading that honestly, and I was a guy who loved to party in college.

Out of all of them, it sounds the biggest scumbag (from this story), is the one coming back (Kwamain). He lied to police, which is a big tip for me, that he knew he had something to hide.

Lots of reading into for me, I'll admit.

I'm pretty sure they're all pretty scummy...as are most popular athletes (relatively speaking).

SLU lost yesterday to Georgia after blowing a 14 point lead.
