Wow.
I went to bed when Mizzoue had the ball up 4 w/ 20 seconds left. Thought it was in the bag.
Sounds like English just made another poor decision saving that ball right to their guy.

Re: Mizzou 2010 Hoops
He was trying to throw it off of a different Georgetown player as he was falling out of bounds. I can't really fault English for a snap decision like that. The most damaging play to me was the Dixon foul with about 15 seconds left. Anyway, last night I was pretty upset about the game, but a day later I've cooled down and can realize that they played a top 10 team that was on fire shooting and still had a chance to win. If I was told how well Georgetown would shoot from the field prior to the game, I would've thought Mizzou would lose by 30.robbotis wrote:Wow.

Correct. Not at all Kimmeh's fault. I was more impressed that the Hoya guy had his wits about him enough to dodge the ball English threw at him.albertmvpujols wrote:He was trying to throw it off of a different Georgetown player as he was falling out of bounds. Bingo. I was worried that Georgetown would mop the floor with the Tigers after the way they'd played against... well, every other game until now. The way they played in the second half, given the competition, might be as good as I've ever seen a Mizzou team play, at least in recent memory. That second half (minus the final minute) was absolutely beautiful. The most damaging play to me was the Dixon foul with about 15 seconds left. Not to make another excuse, but the game was in Kansas City. We had the crowd but not much more familiarity with the court. Technically not a home game.
They certainly looked good coming back against a very quality opponent. But then again, Mizzou has been a dominant second half team for quite awhile now. I always feel good about our chances if it's 10 points or less at half.
The strange thing is the rotation CMA used. The starters played all but 22 minutes of an overtime game. It could have just been a situation where he felt that was the only way we could come back, but this team has good depth that should be used. Keeping the pace up is our biggest advantage. I don't know how Younger, More Talented Pressey logs only one minute after averaging twenty.
The Illinois game is shaping up to be a good matchup. Both teams should be ranked in the 10-20 range.

That's not as bad as a similar story I have. The Cards were playing Cinci, and they were down pretty big, like 6 or 7 runs. I don't remember all the particulars, but I'm sure the game will stand out to a few. It's the top of the ninth, and Pujols grounds to the SS for what would be the game-ending DP. My daughter was up later than usual, and the wife was gone, so I had to put her to bed. As soon as the SS got the ball, I turned the TV off. Got up about 30 minutes later, and the game is somehow in the bottom of the ninth. I had to watch a little bit just to make sure it wasn't highlights from a previous game between the two clubs. Cards won, and I missed one of the biggest comebacks the team has had in my memory.lukethedrifter wrote:Wha??robbotis wrote:Wow.

Unfortunately, I watched the MU collapse.

I went to bed last night with MU up by 20. Sounds like it got dangerously close after that.

A baby w/ an ear infection and teeth popping in makes it difficult to get more than 4 hours of sleep.

I thought I could fall asleep with it on in the second half, but after a couple minutes had to turn it off because it was too distracting. Glad I did so before the collapse began.lukethedrifter wrote:I went to bed last night with MU up by 20. Sounds like it got dangerously close after that.
Anderson's using a much shorter bench than in previous years. Almost came back to bite them with the crazy travel schedule the last 2 weeks.

Re: Mizzou 2010 Hoops
With the way the shots were dropping for the Tigers in the first half they should have led by 35 or so. They really were sloppy but given their early schedule I guess they can be excused.
Also, Kreklow did not handle the ball well at all in the little bit I saw of him.
