Fence? Back Yard? I live in the city. The dog gets to go for runs with me every day for an hour, then get walked by my special lady friend for another hour, then play in the dog park for a 3rd hour. He's not allowed to [expletive] after that.

Well, as long as you can keep it active enough. Those dogs are well known for destroying houses where they are couped up all day.

If I do have to go through the puppy phase again, I think I'm going to put it in doggy day care while I'm at work to help it socialize and keep it from destroying things and learning bad habits while I'm gone.

Check out Petsmart. My dad put his puppy through obedience school and he's 100x better. Before he was destructive and never listened to anybody and was constantly in your face. Now when the door bell rings, he has him trained to immediately sit down where ever he is until he's given the command to stand up. When he leaves, he has to make sure he doesn't say "stay" as he goes to the door, or else the dog will seriously not move until he comes back. He's thinking about putting him into the "advanced" class where they learn cool tricks and run him through those obstacle courses.

Also, cats don't do tricks. That is, unless you count scratching your face while you sleep, hiding on ledges to attack you as you walk by, pushing glassware off of counters, and being moody, as tricks.

My mom taught her kitten how to play fetch. My parents have always been dog ppl and rescued this kitten, so they pretty much just treat it like a dog and I think the cat is starting to think it's a dog. They even put her on a leash when she goes outside. She plays with their dog like a dog and she naps with the dog.

Awesome montage.

My pup and I went home for the weekend. My childhood dog is turning 17 and not doing very well. He's completely blind and has many other problems. My pup stayed at his side the entire weekend. Whenever our old dog would try to get around, my pup would follow along side him trying to direct him away from objects. When old dog would lay down, my pup would lay right next to him and not allow any strangers near him.


Oh yea, and I started teaching my pup how to roll over a week ago and he has it mastered now.

The best part of my day is coming home to him. Once I got home from work today the first thing I did was take him out to go play in the snow and he had a blast.
