I used to use the supercuts on Olive near 270 all the time growing up, and that place sucked. Big time. If you were lucky enough to be there when more than one person was working, then the one who wasn't working was just cleaning and yukking it up with the guy who was. 45 minute wait times were the norm. I started going to Great Clips and I'm in, maybe sit for 5 minutes, get the haircut, out. Either I went to a terrible supercuts, or Great Clips is far better.
I remember the time when I was 13 I told the person at great clips "#4 clipper on the sides and the back". The problem? She didn't hear the "sides and the back" part. Instant buzz cut; by the time I noticed it was too late and she had to finish it. I felt awful, and looked like Eddie Munster.

I have a similar story. I was about 12 years old and lived in a small town where I could walk to the Barber. Well, I should have known better because everytime a person walked out of this barber shop, they looked like they were headed to a concentration camp.
I walked in and said, "thin it out Glen." My cousin was with me and got the other barber and did a better job than I did as far as explaining his hair cut of choice. Anyway, he was okay, it was a little short but okay. He was finished before me and turned and looked at me and immediately started laughing so hard he had to go in the bathroom to control himself as he could see the look of anguish and disgust on my face. Glen then finishes and asks me if it looks okay and I said "yes," threw the money on the chair and got the hell out of there. I looked awful.
We laughed the entire walk to the store where I bought 2 new hats.

Pretty much any place with "clips" or "cuts" in the name is going to suck.
Well, there certainly will be no consistency.
I used the barber in Webster Groves until my sister began cutting hair a couple of years ago. It was tough giving up on Gus the Barber, last name Baldi .
She was a not so great at first but now I look fabulous.
