The pessimist in me sees this starting pitching in the Spring as a set-up for a cruel punch line in the regular season. It's too good.

I'm mildly concerned about Tyler Johnson. He was bad at the game I went to on Sunday, and here's his work thus far today: 1 H, 2 BB(one of whom was Jason Simontacchi), 3 wild pitches, 1 ER.

Think his mechanics are just out of whack so far because it's Spring Training, or what?

By the way, is there anywhere you can find out how the various pitch counts have broken down per game? MLB doesn't seem to track this on Gameday for the spring games.

I'd like to know how efficient Looper, Reyes, and Wainwright have been.

Hopefully its his mechanics because he did look awful on Sunday.

His fastball was in the mid 80s with no movement and his breaking ball was flat.

Johnson's control just isn't very good -- 26 walks in 39 big-league innings. That's why I've never been high on him. You can't come into close games and start putting people on base.
