What one thing would you change about MLB?

I'm seconding most of what's been said. No DH, no interleague play, no All Star game "this time it counts" BS.

As far as instant reply, why? What would it possibly be used for? Close plays at first get blown only once every decade, it seems, and if ballparks would stop screwing with their outfield, there'd never be any doubt about home runs.

Oh, and add HGH blood testing. It works, just ask the IOC, and it would remove all doubts. People who were accusing players of steroids only to have them come up clean are now accusing the same guys of HGH. It's just stupid, because any jacka** with a mic can cause a controversy just by saying "He looks bigger/smaller"

Finally, and this goes along with the thing above, put in some hard/fast rules about outfield dimensions. I'm not saying every ballpark should be the same, but putting hills, flagpoles, weird angles, statues, and whatever else you feel like in a brand new ballpark is just stupid.

Well, the question was ONE thing. Now that I've thought about it, I have several in order of importance.

1. Force teams to crack down on ticket resellers. This buying up all of the tickets and making a profit on stubhub has gotten out of hand.

2. No DH.

3. Stop the all-star game winner gets the WS home field silliness.

4. Stop Interleague play.

5. Contract to 28 teams, go back to two divisions in each league of 7 teams and eliminate the wildcard and one round of the playoffs.

6. Eliminate all discussions of instant replay.

Reduce Regular Season to 154 or 156 games (however it used to be),

Have two wildcards in each league, on the offday before the playoffs, those two teams have a "Play In" game to decide who makes the actual "playoffs".

My thought is that Wildcard Teams will use their #1 pitcher, and have to deal with travel the day before the real playoffs begin, giving them a sizable disadvantage going up against the #1 seed. Also make the 1st round 7 games.

Seriously?

I think there is at least one play a game that ends up in a questionable call. Was the home run fair/over the yellow line? Did that double down the line catch the chalk? Did the runner leave early tagging up? Tag plays, plays at first, possibly fan interference, etc. Umpires are human. I would be all for IR as long as it was very limited in use. Why not take advantage of technology to get the call right?

Not a big fan of those, though. I think there is a difference between a digital strike zone and a very limited use of technology to make sure that certain plays get called right in the postseason.

At first I thought going back to two divisions per league would be good but I kind of like the wildcard. Then two really good teams in the same division would have a fair shot. I think four is the limit though. I would shorten the season as you suggested and make the divisional series seven games to more accurately determine the best team.

either make the nl have the dh or the al get rid of the dh. both leagues should be the same. you don't see the nfc outlawing field goal kickers.

managers and coaches should not wear their team's uniform.
