FWIW, Molina had almost no platoon split last year. A little better getting on base against LHP, a little more power against RHP.

He batted cleanup against lefties for the 100-win team in 2005.

we were doing that last year, I"m sure of it. Maybe even in the post-season? Am I hallucinating?

I swear I remember Molina batting 5th against lefties, not all year, but I remember it.

and YOU were there! and YOU! ... and the whole time I could've come home if I had just...

no really. Can anybody else recall this?

You're hallucinating,

well that's a relief, I was starting too worry that I paid too much for these pills.

probably thinking of the time Belliard batted 5th during the World Series. Both players are sort of chunkish and look like thugs in their official photos.

Like he did all spring, and the spring before that. The guy tears up ST pitching.

Molina is proof that ST stats should count for nothing.

I don't like the idea of him hitting 5th. He's a rally killer.

I'm assuming this will be the lineup. It's a compromise between opening day respect and wanting to get some righties in there against Glavine:

1. Eckstein, ss
2. Preston Wilson, RF
3. Pujols, 1b
4. Rolen, 3b
5. Molna, C
6. Edmonds, Cf
7. Duncan, RF
8. Kennedy, 2b

My lineup:

1. Eck
2. PW
3. Pujols
4. Rolen
5. Edmonds
6. Speizio
7. Molina
8. Miles (ugh! But, Kennedy sucks against lefties.)
