I still think it was worth it.

I think that since this is a pretty mediocre team anyway, they shouldn't try to rush Carpenter out there to get some wins. Let him fully recover so he can be 100% next season. Let's just have a decent season and get Wainwright, Reyes, and Duncan more experience. Also it gives time for Juan and Mulder to get better if we're not trying to rush them out there.
I'm not saying to give up on the season. But I think that anything above a .500 record and higher than third in the division would be a bonus, if Carpenter is out.
I really hope this isn't serious...

This sucks, any guesses from Phyrkrakr or others with these new developments?
And Hawk needs to sneak J-Rod onto that plane.

Amen to getting JRod up here.
As far as guesses, they should've had an MRI on that bad boy from day one. When it flares up suddenly like that, it's usually due to something traumatic that happened recently. An XRay will diagnose, but the MRI is needed to see how bad it is.
I'm sure we'll hear something after they put him in the tube...but it's not good, obviously.

I was on record saying I am very nervous on the extension when that happened. We had control over Carp for next two years. We should have waited at least until the end of this season.
And no, I am not second guessing.

I'd do that deal a hundred times over.
You can't second-guess yourself for injuries,
especially to top-flight pitchers.
I think giving extensions to pitchers when they have 2 years left of their deal is a big risk. Pitchers are a larger injury risk than position players. I'm not saying it was a horrible deal - it just makes me nervous.

I knew his miraculous recovery was too good to be true.
