I'm still intrigued by him.

People were saying similar things as to what you and ball have said when it comes to Kip Wells. Yet look at him now. (Yeah, it's still early, but spring and regular season combined have been pretty impressive so far.)

I think a guy like Buerhle, with the tutelage of Duncan, a switch to the 8-man lineups of the NL and embracing the fact he needs to change his approach, could remake his career here.

But hey, if you are in the camp of wanting Buerhle to become a Cardinal, in a twisted way you should be rooting for him to suck this year. It lowers his price tag.

Duncan may be able to work wonders w/ him but I get scared when I see a pitcher that can barely crack 90mph. Not that there aren't a few good ones out there that can hover under 90 but they are few and far between.

Could you see Buehrle turing into a left-handed Maddux? Or a slimmer David Wells? Or a Pettitte or Glavine? (Ok, Glavine's on the high side of the potential meter, but still.)

True, though I always felt Pettitte benefited more from his offense than the two former Braves.

not to rain on the "buehrle-sucks parade" but he finished that game pitching 7 innings, giving up only those 3 runs, 4 hits and 2 walks.
