Pujols and Rolen have to produce. If they don't, the Cards will lose 3-2 a lot.

Here's something funny/sad. John Rodriguez has logged more innings in CF this year than Skippy has.

That's what drives me crazy. Schumaker isn't used as a defensive replacement, which is his only value. He's used as a spot starter and pinch hitter, which is Rodriguez's strength.

If it wasn't for one bad inning against Houston (bad for Houston at least), the offense would look even worse.

Pujols and Rolen both have OPSs struggling to get above the Molina line.

Come to think of it...Eckstein, Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, Molina, Kennedy, and Wilson are all down in that area. Brutal.

Definitely not a fun game to watch. At all.

I don't know what's up with our 3/4/5 guys, but not a one looks at all good when they're swinging. Maybe Rolen, he's gotten some cuts in. But Albert and Jimmy just look like they're wearing Grandpa glasses and swinging a nerf bat or something.

Blech.

Eh. No big deal. What could you really do to improve it right now, except for calling up different people from Memphis?

Duncan is being the left fielder we needed. Edmonds is about what you'd expect and I think he'll get better as the season goes on. Albert and Scott will come around eventually, and we can't expect to get anywhere until they do.

John Rodriguez isn't a savior or anything, but when Skippy isn't playing the outfield and your best hitter in the 9th inning of a one-run game is Yadier Molina, then there's a pretty obvious better use for that 25th spot on the roster.
