Personally I hope the Cards are watching Josh Hamilton with the Reds, and give Ankiel a shot before trading a butt-load of prospects for a quality RF.

RF is really the only spot we can upgrade hitting wise. Every other postion is pretty much locked in for this season. RF is the most reasonable spot for them to cash in their chips to upgrade. Our record is still good, no reason to panic.

If things start to go south, and Encar is not back yet. Or he is and performing crappily, I'd like to see Ankiel given a shot. High risk/high reward. I don't think our Sept RF is on our 25 man roster right now.

I think I hear Joseph Tweeks registering with this site as I type.

Joe Mather is tearing up AA right now, if he continues hitting like that and gets a september call up, he might be a possibility. Not a very likely one at all but you never know. AA is supposed to be the hardest of the minors, but who knows.

I got a feeling we will see a rotation much like we are right now... whether its Preston, Juan, etc... just feel that RF will be the position where people are mixed and matched

Tony has this big loyalty thing and a stubborn streak. If Juan is close to healed Tony will play him till the cows come home. On the other hand if he is playing bad he is also loyal to Rick Ankiel and might want him brought up for a look see.

I voted for Preston Wilson. Not because I want him, but because that's who I think we'll find ourselves with.

But, if the starting pitching can maintain the success it's had so far, and ownership doesn't add a bat via trade to buoy the offense, I shall not be a happy camper.
