Well, the 0-2 pitch to Paulino was a strike. Some umpires break out in hives if they call a third strike.

what would a guy bring that an org. has been extremely high on and all the sudden want to get rid of him? I will keep reyes and give him a chance beyond 6innings pitched this season. Have we not seen other pitchers start slow or have bad first innings? (Matty Mo comes to mind as a terrible 1st inning pitcher.) Even Carp has bad stretches. Let the kid learn to pitch.

It wasn't strike three. The rules change on strike three.
