Do you junk the team, dump as much salary as you can, and rebuild around Pujols, Rolen, and Carp?
There's really not much else on the ML roster that's 'untouchable.'
I'm not even 100% sure Rolen is at this point.

You don't just trade All-Stars away for "good" young players. They better be can't-miss types, or else you end up like the Royals.

Actually, MIL would be a good trade partner for Rolen. They need a 3rd baseman. Maybe for Hardy and Hart?omaha_red wrote:agreed.doe_boy wrote:Hey, if the Cards could get a couple of good prospects or a couple of young mlers for Scott, they should go for it. They have a stud prospect for 3B. I can't remember his name though.planet pujolsian wrote:Actually, MIL would be a good trade partner for Rolen. They need a 3rd baseman. You need Rolen. Hes a corner stone guy. We were just talking about this in the chat.
Guys like, Jimmy (one year left), Izzy and Eck would bring something.
Jimmy and Izzy are 10/5 guys.
Izzy prolly brings the most value, but he would have to waive his NTC.
PW is also on a one year deal, but doesnt bring much. Franklin has pitched well enough that he may bring something.
