Reyes, Jay and Ottavino would be a package I could live with, but I doubt Beane could.

I wouldn't want to give up Rasmus or Anderson. But if a package featuring Reyes would get it done I'd take the chance. Wasn't Carp oft-injured before he came to STL?

Absolutely, but he was low-risk, high reward.
Harden is high-risk, high reward.
We would have to give up top prospects which we don't have enough of. He would have to be as close to a sure thing as you can get.

Harden would be nice, but would also be something of a foolish expenditure of resources. The need is on offense. The pitching is rife with question marks, but a stick is the easiest/quickest way to get better.
