i think it was Adrian Gonzalez a few days ago that bunted for a base hit after being shifted a little bit (not as extreme as Ortiz or Bonds, but it was a pretty large shift).

SB Nation links to a very poorly worded Goold tweet which seems to indicate that the Cardinals will start emphasizing defensive shifts more in the minors.

The search function! I remembered a long thread about the shift, searched, didn't find it (because it was originally about the Pittsburgh Pirates last year and mutated into talking about the shift), but found this one instead. And because I'm weird and like to avoid creating new threads if possible, I bumped this one.

I don't think I'll ever be able to unsee Pedroia catching that liner off of Beltran's bat in Game 6 next year. Never in my life seen a 2b in that spot, and it worked.
