Run of good luck? Umm ok, not sure how they have had a run of good luck, but whatever.
"Good luck" might not be the best term. "Good fortune" perhaps including the schedule(Natinals and Reds to open the second half), injuries to the Astros (Berkman, Hawkins, Oswalt) either right before or when the Cubs play them, etc.
Meh to each their own I guess.

You don't think it improves the Cubs chances to win today with Oswalt out?

If he's going to be out, he'd better be out for at least a week so that the Cards don't have to face him this coming weekend. If he was just scratched for this start and then comes back over the weekend to shut down the Cards that'd be ridiculous.

Kevin Hart not having a 14 ERA with his awful peripherals is good luck.

We welcome fans of other teams to the board, but you also have to expect fans of the Cardinals on this board are not going to see the sunny side of the Cubs. The Cubs have gone 9-2 since the break, and have caught many a break along the way to do it. It happens to a lot of teams, and good for them, but Cards fans aren't going to say "Meh" my friend.

I can understand defending your team and I'm not saying that they don't deserve to be where they are, but I certainly think it's fair to say that a lot of things have gone their way so far in the second half.

That being said, Dempster not doing too much to help his own cause so far tonight: Dempster throws a ball into center field at 2nd after Tejada taps it back to him. 3-0 now 1st and 3rd again still no outs.

Dempster looks awful. I pretty much expected it after being out and not doing a rehab start. As for the luck thing goes, Im on a Stl board Im not going to get into that discussion. Things have went our way in the 2nd half basically because we have started to hit, and getting a healthy ARam, and a productive Soriano is the big reasons why. We have lost our best pitcher to an injury in the 2nd half, it hasnt been all roses.
