Like Fat Strat said, unless there's a sign for "hanging curveball" or "score only two runs," it's not the reason we lost last night.

and nowhere in that did the Cards get quoted saying that. It was a blip on the radar of that article.

Faceman wrote:Guys, the article talked about everything else. There is a blurb at the bottom where Duncan responded to something.

Do we really have to make it out to be more than it is?

ETA - teams steal signs (or try to) and people try to stop them from doing so. It's not like we are talking corked bats or something. Much ado about nothing.
It's worth discussing because Pebbles has been talking about it for a few days, then it shows up in an article with Duncan mentioning it. And the evidence is there to suggest it might be true.

But, no, it didn't have much to do with Carp's hanging curves getting pounded of the Cards hitters going flat. Maybe someone is relaying the wrong signs to the Cards.

This will definitely help the "all-Cardinals-do-is-whine" stigma.

In fact, I bet if I go to Old Red Guard right now they have a topic about this right now, with a bunch of eye-rolling emoticons and sarcastic "didn't see that coming" comments.

In my mind, a runner stealing signs from second is one thing, but if they are doing it by mechanical means it's wrong, whether it's been done for years or not. I do think the team ought to keep their mouths shut about it, and handle it on the field.

When Fielder comes up tonight, drop two fingers, but have Garcia throw the fastball at his ribs, and see if he waits for a break that never happens.

I like that approach....

I noticed there is a stop sign missing a couple blocks down from my house.

The bigger part of the problem, is the virtual inability to get past the 3rd time through the order without [expletive] the bed... the whole rotation has this problem.

What's the excuse for the Cardinals defensive lapse? What's the excuse for not getting to a bunted ball quickley or covering first base on a bunted ball? Why do they continue to screw up the little things in tghe field?

A couple of weeks ago Joe Girardi said Toronto was stealing signs in the Rogers Centre and the Yankees won the next two games.
