Yes indeed thrill .. it's just a game. We need to keep things in perspective.

My lineup tonight, *regardless*:

Furcal 6
Craig 7
Pujols 3
Berkman 9
Freese 5
Molina 2
Theriot 4
Jay 8
Carpenter 1

...
That's a team I'd go to war with right there. I'm fine with Skip for Jay and Punto for Theriot if you like.

How many of us felt fairly certain that Hamilton wouldn't be able to get around on a Motte fastball at the end? I know I did. That said, that's not making an excuse for Holliday, particularly his play in LF last night nor getting picked off. But let's not overlook the great job to break up the DP by taking out Elvis either.

Clearly Holliday is hurt. He's not getting around on fastball, and they're killing him in. But if he plays, he could have a huge night. I like Craig being out there, though, even if he did pretty much hit worse than Holliday after his first AB as a starter in this series.

Had Motte been in his first inning, and not try to go two innings, I suspect he would have gotten Hamilton out. Seeing Motte try to go two innings and give up two runs may well be why Washington didn't send Feliz out there for a second inning himself in the bottom of the 10th.

Holliday is off the roster, and Adron took his place.
