Seems like a good strategy to me. Gotta watch the body language though.haltz wrote:One of these gratuitous fanshots caused a mini-fight when my girlfriend correctly surmised that I paused and rewound because they zoomed in on someone I had hooked up with at some point. Never reply to that direct question with non-answer details such as, "she's like best friends with my sister at Mizzou" and "I've only met her once."

Here is the umpires view of game 6. I have ump'd little league games but never anything with any meaning. I never gave a thought to how they get to view a game from an enjoyment stand point. There concentration has to be phenomenal. If I was umping first base and had a check swing appeal thrown at me I probably would wonder why they were pointing at me since I was checking out the crowd instead of the game.

I must be too stupid for words. I recorded the whole world series, but discovered that with game six going so long and us not setting the recorder long enough, I do not have the ninth inning. I have everything else. So I go buy the thing for two bucks from ITunes. Never had ITunes, but I wanted a copy of the game. So now I have it. But I can only watch it on my laptop. I tried three different converters and nothing works. I have several video converters that I have bought in the past and they don't work either. I also have a recorder that I could use to capture the game, but I can get video of the game but can't capture sound.
I'm beside myself right now.

I watched the entirety of Game 6 with little 'Zeus Jr. on my lap. He slept through nearly the entirety. My wife, too, had gone to bed. When we tied it in the 9th, it took all of my energy and restraint not to shoot up in air and dump the kiddo on the floor. Same was true in the 10th, but this time I thought, "Welp, if they all wake up, so be it. But on the whole it's better if I keep quiet."
But when Freese homered in the 11th, there was no choice. It was time to do a victory dance and whoop in the living room. Fortunately, 'Zeus Jr. was still roughly football sized so he was easy to tuck, Heisman-style.
My wife didn't wake up at all. Sleep deprivation is a powerful thing. I went to bed but couldn't sleep at all from the excitement. A few hours later, when 'Zeus Jr. started crying to be fed, she finally woke up. Evidently I couldn't wait to tell her what had happened. She says that as soon as she opened her eyes, I launched straight into "Ohmygodyou'renevergonnabelievethiswetieditwithtwostrikesinthe9ththenagaininthe10ththenwehitahomertowininthe11thAHHHHHHH!" I didn't even give her the chance to wake up.
