Re: Underrated NCAA Basketball Teams

I think there's a very very strong chance they start 14-0. They've already smoked all of the challenging teams on their nonconference schedule. They're shooting much better this year. Getting good shots and knocking them down. They'll have to keep that up because they lack size inside. Conklin has been beastly, though. Looking like Tyler Hansborough Jr. Imagine if Reed wasn't a dumdum.

Yeah, don't underestimate SLU.
The A-10 is legit. They could reasonably place 4 teams in the tourney. They'll have at least 2 teams ranked most of the year. SLU just beat Washington, Boston College, Oklahoma, and Villanova. Those are 2 really good teams, and 2 solid ones. Check that, they DEMOLISHED, those 4 teams. SLU's good this year.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up...still a long season ahead...but yeah, it is way too low. The motion offense is beautiful when clicking, and their defense is incredible right now.

EDIT: SLU RANKED #23!!!

A-10 is 7th in conference RPI, which is good. Ranked will be tough since they'll beat up on each other, and a few losses sting mid-majors more than majors.

Missouri Valley (5th) and A-10 are clearly the two best mid-major conferences this year, and could both get multiple bids.

BC and Oklahoma are bad BCS teams, will most likely end up 120+ in RPI (BC could be very bad). Villanova the jury is out, as they lost again to Santa Clara.

Washington could be a good team though.

SLU is very good good this year, I think tourney is well within their sights. Heck, a single digit seed could be within their sights.

I don't think this Lon Kruger Sooners team is as bad as you suggest.

Anyway, time will certainly tell.

Could surprise...Steven Pledger is key to their team. As he goes, the team goes. He missed the Idaho State game and they narrowly won by 4 at home.

Towards the latter part of last season, the team was starting to click.

Anyways, Conklin has been amazing and Ellis isn't [expletive] for once.

This team should be able to make the tourney.
