I've had much better results with Lexapro. Way less side effects than Prozac. I also have anxiety and Lexapro helps with both.

Lexapro is mine as well. I haven't tried anything else. It seems to work quite well. It can have some sexual side effects though. But I think all AD drugs can.

Thanks guys for all the help and advice. I know this can be a sensitive subject so I really appreciate the input.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I take taekwondo a few times a week. Its a nice way to get away from everything going on in the world. Once you enter the dojang, you are there and nowhere else, because you are too busy sweating and trying to improve on many goals to remember to be stressed about anything else.

Might be worth a try to look into a martial art or yoga or something.

I don't know if it's that time of year again or what, but here I am again. These days I feel extra douchey about not feeling great too. I kind of feel like I have everything going for me but for some reason I just feel sad. It's not that I'm unhappy. I want for nothing, but there's just this gloom. I think a lot of it is that my Dad is so sick right now and has a really long road ahead of him. Then the anniversary of Nic's passing is coming up and that starts getting into my head this time of year.

I went back through reading what you guys had wrote and I realize I'm terrible about going to the doctor. There is this part of me that says it's just the time of year. Things are slow right now. Harvest is over, everything else is kind of on cruise control and I always have a hard time adjusting from the long hours of harvest to the off season. So I think it will probably go away, but then I think there has to be something underneath causing it anyway. It probably sounds silly but I just hate the thought of going to the doctor. I know most are professional but here in this small town everyone talks. The nurses, the receptionists, etc. I don't really want it getting around that I'm depressed.

Just wait until May. The Blues are generally finished by then.

Find a counselor then. They're bound by ethics to keep things confidential. As is anyone in the medical profession, actually. HIPAA and all that.
