My problem with trivia nights is I always second guess myself and even if I'm 99% sure I'm right, I let others overrule me because of that 1% of doubt. I just knew it was Andrew Johnson that was the first president impeached, but let them put Andrew Jackson. And everyone looked at me like I was nuts when I tried to tell them that Adam Wainwright hit the first Cardinal home run in Busch III, and that 49 in roman numerals is not IL, or XXXXIX, but XLIX.

Well, you would have been wrong on that one, since it was Mark Mulder.

I'm doing a quiz as a charity fundraiser in a few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone knew of an Excel template or some site that allows you to create your own? I'm way too lazy to build my own.

Mulder gave up the first home run, but I think it was Pujols that was the first Cardinal to hit one. Actually, I think the question was who hit a home run on their first at bat in the majors in the first year of Busch III or something like that, whatever, this was a few years ago so my memory was better at the time and I said Wainwright, which was correct, but they put down someone else.

Busch Stadium III
Busch Stadium III
Years: 2006-present
Capacity: 43,975
On April 10, 2006, the Cardinals opened their new 46,000 seat retro-style downtown ballpark with a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. David Eckstein collected the first Cardinals hit in the new Busch Stadium, and Albert Pujols hit the Redbirds first homerun. The Cardinals also became the first team in almost 100 years to win a World Series Championship in the inaugural season of a new ballpark. The new Busch Stadium will also serve as host for the 80th MLB All-Star Game, in July 2009.

I goof off with a fun phone app called QuizUp. It has tons and tons of categories you choose from, you are matched with someone choosing the same category and do a little race to 7. Fun to play for a few minutes on the train. I get decimated by whomever I am playing in the Cardinals trivia. I do alright on Big Lebowski trivia. I am unbeatable in Spelling and very strong at the vocab-ish stuff.

Ah, gotcha. Hector Luna also has that honor, although he did it in 2004 as our Rule V pick.
