Just to be clear, I have no ill will toward Aldridge. He busted his ass. Got better at everything. Proved the doubters wrong (myself included). Played hurt. He's absolutely a monster.

I bet he goes to San Antonio. I wish him well there. That's the model Portland has to try to follow, but just imagine trying to build that. It won't happen again. OKC won't happen again, I bet. I really do think the new cap and new player propensity for AAU NBA teams is going to demean the draft unless something changes.

In the NBA you just have to get super goddam lucky. Exponentially if you're not in a sexy market.

Yes, nobody wants to be on the Sixers. My guess is Okafor wanted the Lakers to pick him, but they passed and he ended up with Philly a pick later.

but i thought they (sixers management) had this data driven plan. i know embiid is now again hurt but do they not have some good young players?

Most teams look at Okafor and see a big man with NBA ready offensive moves with a great post game. The 76ers see the first round pick in 2018 and 2nd round picks in 2022 and 2023 they can trade him for.

Philly was just drooling so hard when the Lakers passed up on him. They know they can trade the [expletive] out of him.

Okafor simply dropped it on the table. The camera shot is the only reason it looks bad. That and he's about 6' from the table.
