I use it about once a month and have had nothing but great experiences.

My friends in KC say it's very nice. No hand to hand cash transfers, nicer cars, and nicer drivers because they're only working when they want to work.

I haven't used it yet, but if I ever had to go somewhere where it's tough to park my pickup, I definitely would.

I hear great things about the service and terrible things about the company. Which, I suppose isn't uncommon. They sure were dickheads to Portland--bullying/lobbying their way into town and totally ignoring city laws and regulations with a hilarious 'FOR THE PEOPLE!' message. I do feel bad for all the immigrants driving taxis, but it was certainly an industry that needed disruption. Uber's short play is no benefits for anyone. Uber's long play is driverless cars, so even less jobs.

I am from Portland, but I swear I'm not trying to shame anyone for using it. I will myself some night out before too long.

I'm not sure why anyone drives for them, unless they just like driving people around and making a little extra money. Doesn't sound like it's too worthwhile financially. I wonder how the pay scales with the nicer/larger cars and higher rates.

I just want the driverless cars.

This is about the whole of it for me. I've only ever used it when traveling elsewhere and I haven't had any bad experiences, but there's been enough negative about their tactics and culture that I uninstalled the app and threw Lyft on my phone instead(which I haven't used, a testament to how rarely I need a cab/ride).

We used the [expletive] out of it this weekend in Wilmington, NC. Their surge pricing is really annoying, but when you need a ride what else are you going to do but accept the charge? The normal price from our hotel at Wrightsville Beach to downtown was $11. The return fare after last call, due to surge pricing, was $51.

Wow. When I was in Chicago a couple weekends ago, surge pricing was only 30% above normal.

That was our experience too. I think one time we saw 50 percent right after the concert.
