Fantasy Football championship game

I almost had a meltdown on Monday Night. In the championship, my Inglorious Bradfords were 20 point underdogs to a dude who pretty much whooped everyone in regular season play. He rejected my offer for a 150-50 split before the final game (I would have too if I was 20 points favorite).
By some miracle, I went into the MNF with a 20 point lead - all my players done playing and he had AJ Green playing on MNF.
No biggie, he racks up 18 points by 2nd quarter and I felt like someone kicked me in the balls.
3rd & 4tn quarter, the Bengals dont throw to AJ...the whole 4th quarter felt like 10 damn years long....so, the Broncos go for the game winning kick and the dumbass kicker misses the kick. OVERTIME...still time for AJ to make a reception and game would be over..I think drank about 7-8 beers between q4 and OT...Anyways, Broncos won on a snap fumble and I never earned a $200 that hard.

I had Giovanny Bernard. When the kicker missed the field goal, I was dancing. Then, when the Bengals got the ball and I didn't see Bernard on the field, I knew I was done. He is one of the Bengals best players, and isn't even on the field in O.T. [expletive] you Bengals, I hope you lose in the first round.

we take our league all the way to the superbowl and the final rankings determine the playoff draft order...

i came into week 17 tied for 1st in wins, but i was in 2nd place due to points. the two teams behind me were tied for 2nd in wins but were 3rd and 4th due to points. of course i had the lowest point total of the 4 teams, so i needed to win in order to secure the top pick in the playoff draft.

But, as it would turn out, i was head to head with the 1st place team while the two teams behind me got cupcake match ups.

Everything in week 17 was working against me--whether it be teams that were resting starters, injuries, etc. seemed like every pass thrown to my receivers was dropped or called back due to penalties--stuff like that. all his receivers went off. i had a dream matchup of matt ryan vs NO, but matt ryan did what matt ryan does and put up pedestrian numbers, relatively speaking.

my opponent was starting brock osweiler, who got pulled at the half, but since both his defenses went off, i ended up getting smoked while the two teams behind squeaked by their opponents.

dropped to 4th.

I finished with most points in my league but 6th place. Which means next year I get relegated to the "losers" bracket, where the bad teams from the year before play for a smaller pool.

I hate life. For any number of reasons, including this one.

My championship was last week and I finished second by 1.5 points. Got the official email, put up with the trash talking from the guy who beat me, moved on with my life. Thursday I get an all expletive text from the guy, look up my email and they retroactively assigned a fumble to his RB for -2 points, I win the championship by .5. Life is good.

I have been in a fantasy football league for 15 years. Prior to this year, I made the playoffs 9 times, the semis 5 times, and the finals twice. I had never won.

This year I had the best team. I was the number 1 seed with an 11-2 record. I destroyed my opponent in the quarters and destroyed my opponent in the semis.

I finally started believing I was going to win my first title. In the finals, my opponent got off to big lead thanks to Donald Brown, Sam Bradford, and Frank Gore. Big Ben and Martavis Bryant were killing me. After a Brandon Books 70 yard TD, I was projected to lose by 25. I thought I was done.

But then Hightower scored.

And then Baldwin scored.

And then Hightower scored again.

And then Gurley scored.

And suddenly I had the lead. And it was one I would not relinquish. For the first time in 15 years, I won the title in the league I care way too much about. Dam it felt good.
