I understand this rant, but I have become a master at ignoring things. I could have a TV blasting bull at me, and still not hear a word they are saying if I am concentrating on something on my phone, or even lost in my own thoughts. It is a gift and a curse, because I will do the same thing, unintentionally, when my wife is talking to me sometimes.

I think this is a rant about nothing. I like it when there is a TV on. I also prefer it to be the news. I'd much better listen to that than watch 1/2 of an episode of Law and Order.
The TV helps the time go by faster. I also like a newspaper or magazine, but many times they are dirty (not the good kind).

I can verify that it annoys me.

Tv news is a while other rant but particularly the 24 hour news channels are useless outside genuine breaking news.

I am used to being in a car subjected to new pop country (do you guys know they use @*#&#autotune ! as they croon about blue jeans, cold beer, trucks, and sand between their toes).
So I have a high pain threshhold. Myles, you must be superhuman.

With kids in ER or doctors office waiting room TV is about the worst. Trapped sitting for unknown quantity of time with the stupid news on with a bunch of weird maybe-sick people.

At St Johns in STL they have TVs in the [expletive] little ER rooms too.

Do yourself a favor and change it to red dirt country.

I'm 50. I don't want time to go faster.

I guess I just don't let little things like this bother me. I have enough real issues in my life to deal with...

Not a humblebrag, I am just very good at ignoring things that could bother me, just ask Mrs. Wart.
