These are some great ideas. Keep them coming! I would pass them along to a guy I went to HS with since he lives in Bell City, MO and their HS mascot is the cubs... but he's the superintendent of the district so I don't think he'd actually do any of these.

My son's league uses real minor league teams, and even copies their logos (I'm sure it's all legal). I think it's great and you avoid the shame of wearing a Cubs uniform. Last year, they were the Portland Sea Dogs. This year, they were the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

My Pee Wee football team was the Saints. And while I've always had an affinity for the logo, I'm not a Saints fan. So there is hope as long as you raise your kid the right way. No pressure.

We were the Saints as well. Then the Seahawks.
