My Nephew is in for a cardiac cath today to see how his heart and arteries are. Prayers or well wishes would be welcome. Also this may determine when he may need to have his next open heart surgery.

The test went well. The Doctor's said the results were unusual - of course they are - his heart plumbing is all backwards - that is what his issue is.

Won't know for a while when they want him to have his next surgery.

Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC)

In TAPVC, the blood does not take the normal route from the lungs to the heart and out to the body. Instead, the veins from the lungs attach to the heart in abnormal positions and this problem means that oxygenated blood enters or leaks into the wrong chamber.

The poor guys have real issues with blood oxygen levels, having to be on an oxygen pump quite often, and they get pneumonia often too.
