I was waving to all the other essential people on my drive in to work today. We're the privileged few that keep this country running.

Letting businesses decide for themselves that they are essential is not going to work.

I figured out 4 days is the longest I can go without shaving. I was on the brink of insanity.

I've gotten corporate emails from a couple of the large General Contractors around here saying they're currently lobbying the governor to be listed as essential business in the (possibly unlikely) event they order a Shelter In Place.Arthur Dent wrote: ↑March 24 20, 9:40 amLetting businesses decide for themselves that they are essential is not going to work.
So...yeah.

Does it make any difference if you shave the neck beard. That's what gets me.InvincibleCakeEater wrote: ↑March 24 20, 7:13 pmI figured out 4 days is the longest I can go without shaving. I was on the brink of insanity.

I shaved my head on Saturday and I'm growing bread. Now I just need to buy a leather outfit on Amazon to complete my dream of looking like a henchman from Mad Max.

the paradox of receding hairline is that you need more haircuts to look less goofy (at least I feel I do. ) I just do a buzz cut thing these days.
So last weekend when my wife was making the rounds getting some supplies before lockdown, I asked her to get an electric clippers/shaver, if she had time. But I didn't emphasize it enough. And so it grows.

Watching too many Chef John videos each day to decide what to make for dinner.

Re: Covid19 Era 1st World Problems
I had a little treadmill "desk" set up using a shelf from Ikea re-purposed to hold a keyboard and mouse across the treadmill arms and the computer connected to a cheap TV mounted on the wall. I've used the setup quite a bit in the winter when I have something to do on the computer and want to get some steps in while doing it. As the work from home orders came down, I imagined walking many miles during the day as I typed e-mails and did other work related stuff.
This week the year-old treadmill decides to stop working. I called support and they are sending a new control board and then a tech will have to come out and fix it.
