They weren’t going to get much for a guy with three surgeries on the same shoulder regardless. I feel bad that the botched surgeries (at least in 91’s mind) are why he’s wanting out but a split is best for everyone involved.

I have a feeling he'll be a blue this year.
his cap hit is actually 9.5 this next year, as he deferred some past money...and with a flat cap, I don't see anyone taking that on for a guy you still don't know what he his with the shoulder. and I don't see Army eating money just to make him happy. STL owners aren't ones with a ton of money, and already spend to the cap, and have lost a [expletive] ton due to COVID19.
I bet he'll be left exposed, but I don't see Seattle taking him due to that 9.5 this year, and thus...I believe he'll remain a blue.
as bad as that situation may be.

Really mad about that captain thing I guess. He has been my favorite for a long time, but I have to be honest, he hasn't played all that well in quite awhile. If it is due to injury, well then it is a serious injury. Maybe he is just getting old.

I’m surprised the relationship is this bad. Sounds like it’s over.
If I’m the blues I only really concern myself with getting rid of all the money, even if the return isn’t great. Funnel that money into landeskog (or saad and Schwartz/a 2nd fa lw)
I know it’s not ideal, but if someone doesn’t take all the money, keep him.
Iirc his cap hit is still $7.5m (it’s the average of the deal) he is owed more cash this year, but only like $5m next year.
I fully expect him to be worth it to whomever trades for him. 25-30 goals. But we can get a 25 goal scorer on the left side with that money who might also add some grit, and you have Perron and kyrou for the top 6 rw.
And unless a trade looks super likely, I absolutely expose tank to Seattle now. Another young forward gets protected.

and I believe you're right/I read it wrong I think...cap hit should still be the 7.5, but the actually salary this year is 9.5 (drops down to I believer 5 or 5.5 next year in the last year?)
I expose him and hope Seattle takes the salary (and like you, I do believe he'll be good...not as good as he was, but a 20-25 goal guy)...the distraction just isn't worth it so I hope they do take him, as I just don't see someone trading for him with a flat cap.
(of course army was able to get rid of lehtera and his 4.7/year contract, AND get schenn, so I guess I should never say never! but the flat cap is what's screwing us and him)

I could see someone taking a chance on him around the deadline or next offseason if he looks even like a 20 goal scorer. (Because then you would have just one year left after that, and someone might bank on a disgruntled 20 goals turning into 25-30)

Blues might end up being possibly better off without Tank, but I'm still so sad over this. I still remember his thrilling 1st game, & many other moments. He was also huge for us in the Cup run. He's been a special Blue to me, I appreciate him. I wish his St.Louis career could've ended on a better note.

PLEASE HIT THE MARKET
Also heard on the radio (101) that Edmonton traded for Keith and is taking on all his cap hit. Good sign for a tank trade?

Interesting. I think the list is due for the Seattle draft now/11 our time and no trade. Thought for sure they would trade Dunn as opposed to lose him for nothing.
