EDIT - nope, '84
I'll dig out my videotape of the game and see what they say. Thinking about it, though, I think I remember now - it was the Tonight Show that they went to, and Cosby was guest-hosting. I think.

I for one am really looking forward to the 15 times in tonight's broadcast when Joe and Tim point out that this may be Albert's last AB/GIDP/roped line drive/ball scratch as a Cardinal.

Not if they're winning 8-2 after the first two innings.heyzeus wrote:I for one am really looking forward to the 15 times in tonight's broadcast when Joe and Tim point out that this may be Albert's last AB/GIDP/roped line drive/ball scratch as a Cardinal.

Alrighty...plan for the night is all set. Have to be at work until ~10 pm...so the car radio is shut off...the phone is getting shut off at about 7:30 Indy time...all computers will be far away from me...and if anyone tells me anything about this game I'll kick them square in the nuts. As soon as rehearsal is over I'll be getting straight in the car and driving straight home. DVRing it and I'll get home and hopefully be able to watch a winner!
The one positive is I can fast forward through all the BS talking and just watch the damn game.

I tried doing the DVR thing earlier this playoffs, then randomly hit a button accidentally on my remote and the feed switched to live. So I lost like 6 innings, and all of a sudden the score was totally different.Swingingbunt wrote:Alrighty...plan for the night is all set. What with the newborn, I'm often watching the game on DVR-delay.
The upside: Holy crap, I never have to hear Tim McCarver talk, at all. And skipping the commercials between each half inning and pitching change is pure bliss.
The downside: If somebody calls or texts, it's hard not to notice. Does that mean something good just happened? Something bad just happened? If nobody called at all, does that mean we're now losing by a lot? Kinda nerve wracking.

Fellow at the Pitchers Hit 8th blog notes that Garcia's OPS against is 150 points lower when he has six days rest. My hunch was the extra day would help him and that he's tired late in the season. Also gives Lynn another day. Would like to see a Garcia/Lynn tag team to get through seven innings.

I'd Garcia to have a huge lead and go 9.jagtrader wrote:Fellow at the Pitchers Hit 8th blog notes that Garcia's OPS against is 150 points lower when he has six days rest.
