I know Simmons has a hard-on for him, but I'm not sure Morely with his advanced stat conferences is all that great. The Lin deal wasn't smart. Expecting a ransom for Asik and not getting help at the deadline with that chip was stupid--they ended up trading him for a pick they had to include to clear Lin. Keeping Kevin McHale was really stupid.

Thanks to LBJ going back to Cleveland, my Pelicans were able to pick up the BS contract of Alonzo Gee and package that with a 1st and other BS contracts to get Omer Asik and Omri Casspi. Still have the room level exception available to get a SF. I hope Shawn Marion isn't too expensive, but Wesley Johnson and Jordan Hamilton aren't bad alternatives. Whoever we get will start, but is likely to only play 20-25 minutes in a perfect world.

I know the West is deep, but the Pels are getting my hopes up that they can get into the playoffs if they're healthy.

Also glad to see my guy McDermott light it up in the summer league (which I admit isn't saying much, but I'd rather see that than to see him struggle). 31 pts on 7/12 shooting, including 5/9 from 3. Also went 12/12 from the FT line. This is what he does when he gets on a roll.

Summer League is so weird. I've been following both McDermott and Gary Harris (Nuggets #1 pick):

Saturday:
McDermott: 10 pts. (2 of 8 shooting)
Harris: Harris 33 pts. (10 of 17 shooting)


Sunday
McDermott: 31 pts. (7 of 12 shooting)
Harris: 9 pts. (1 of 12 shooting)

Yep, I know I just pasted numbers from a box score, but you really can't tell anything from that in summer league. Josh Selby has the best summer league PER of all-time. Either way, I wish both McBuckets and Harris well.

Cavs now reportedly willing to include Wiggins in a trade for Kevin Love. I'd have to think they'll get some kind of deal done.

Looks like we are nabbing Aaron Brooks now. There's really no excuse to give Heinrich minutes unless we are limiting Rose early on. Kirk will be a clubhouse leader - and probably a Bulls FO guy someday - but he just can't help on offense whatsoever anymore.
