i’m kind of disturbed and alarmed that the distance of each home run is declining. Disturbing trend.
Well, he went the other way to be charitable to those fans.

He will get drilled next AB and I hope the team is ready to go to war.
Absolutely amazing. Didn't Willie McCovey hit 3 homers in his 1st MLB game in '59?
If they do hit him, CawwCaww-Armstrong ges drilled and Counsell gets beat up.
In his debut game, McCovey went 4-for-4 (all line drives), with two triples, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Not sure what his two other hits were.
Moved Orlanda Cepeda to 3rd base so that McCovery could play 1B.
Sat Jim Davenport the regular SF 3B that season.

Interesting Cardinal trivia:

Stan Musial is the oldest MLB player to hit 3 HRs in the same game. Age 41 July 8th, 1962 at the Polo Grounds. Beat the Mets 15-1.

Bob Gibson was 3 for 5 that same day.
Probably could have been a HOFer as a position player. He was a true athlete.

He was a true athlete. He left Creighton as the all time leader in points scored in bball when he graduated, not broken until 1964 by Paul Silas.
