Negotiating via the media strikes me as classless. The message I get from that is that Boras isn't man enough to get a deal done face to face.stlouie_lipp wrote:Scott Boras is just doing his job, i.e. get the most money for his clients that he can. OT but I hope the Mets sign and overpay Pineiro. It's gratifying watching that fail organization do what it does.

Seems like EVERY time negotiations start with a significant Boras client, we get the stories we're getting on Holliday. Other agents get good deals done without attempting to take the lazy, sleazy, classless way out.InvincibleCakeEater wrote:huh?Radio_Bugtussle wrote:Negotiating via the media strikes me as classless. I don't really get what these "stories" are. He's a high profile agent and reporters ask him about his clients. He answers. Judging by his track record it looks like he is more than man enough to sit down and get a deal done face to face. The man is ridiculously good at his job.Radio_Bugtussle wrote:Seems like EVERY time negotiations start with a significant Boras client, we get the stories we're getting on Holliday. Boras is a scumbag, but they are all scumbags. He's just more of a scumbag and better at it then his contemporaries.

If he's in NY and makes an error like he did in game 3 he's probably not alive right now.
