I didn't read that thread, and I wasn't there. I was trying to explain why so many people are "intimidated" by the BT, I get the feeling sometimes that if I make an observation from watching a game, that 4 or 5 people are going to come back with a mountain of stats to try to prove to me I didn't really see what I thought I saw.
My personal thought would be, who cares? Nobody's opinion around here is worth more than anyone else's. They're all worthless in the grand scheme of things.

Some people don't seem to think that way, some seem to think they need to change everybody's mind to their way of thinking. If you don't like it, you can go waste someone elses dime!

When you're asking that question as a representative of an organization, isn't it in the organization's right to determine if they want to be represented by you?

I use "organization" loosely, but my point remains the same. It's your right to say what you want, but it's other people's right to say what you have to say is juvenile, and not what they want to see on their site. Michael pays the bills for this place. If you don't like the way he runs the show, then have fun on someone else's dime.

Sorry popeye, I didn't realize I was not able to make an oservation, we cannot question the mods or the admin. My bad. But I ain't going anywhere, I will keep on wasting his dimes as long as he will let me! Even though I am sure I waste too much of my time here anyway.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they are attacking you.
Telling me to go play on someone elses dime isn't an attack? Good thing I don't get offended or upset easily. I am just trying to be a voice of reason for a lot of the people who left instead of explaining things. No matter what he said, I ain't mad at Popey, he is entitled to his opinion, as am I. Peace all!

Has this actually happened or is just your feeling? The way I see it, if I mention something I observe, and people bring a truck load of statistical evidence to refute what I observed, then I was probably wrong. So I learn something. I find out what the evidence presented means and then I change the way I observe the game to do so more correctly.

If someone tells you you are wrong in a constructive way, you should learn from it or ignore it. If they tell you are wrong in a deconstructive way, you should bring it to a mod's attention if you feel it is worth it. We can make it stop.

Wart I'm DEFINITELY NOT saying you are doing this, but sometimes people just don't like to be wrong and would rather lash out like an immature teenager and act like the problem lies somewhere other than themselves. I think that has become a real problem on this board, and some people who are making a lot of fuss about how this place has "changed" need to look to their own attitudes as to why it changed.

what do you think this whole thread is about? questioning the mods?

my personal opinion was that it was rude to derail an interview thread that might impact our site in getting other interviews...think about it.

That's not what I meant.

People asked juvenile questions in the interview thread. It was their right to do so. But it was Michael's right to call it as he saw it. Show respect, and you'll be shown respect.

I did think about it, and you have a valaid point. But, I think this whole thing got blown out of proportion. I think the mods and Michael do a great job here, I think some people have very thin skins, and I think some people on here think their poop is ice-cream and everyone wants a douple dip. But that is what the real world is like, and I hate to see this great group slit up over this.

Any split that has occured isn't going to affect Gateway Redbirds all that much.

I have done nothing but show respect, and you tell me if I don't like it leave? That ain't right, but I am cool with it, because when it all comes down to it, you are right, if I don't like it, I can go away. Michael, I salute you for all crap you have to put up with, and I would like to thank you for this great place to visit with fellow cards fans.

I may be reading this wrong, but I don't think popeye was telling you to leave.

I think he was saying that in the context of the interview thread - each poster is a representative of this site. If the creator of this site wants to be represented a certain way, it is his call to say so. And if the poster doesn't like that - then that poster can leave.

I don't think he was trying to tell you to leave.
