Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium sounds like it's worth checking out for sure.

Looks good. Maybe tomorrow.
Seeing this Fozzie's place and knowing the locale - makes me think that not far from where I live there's an empty building just begging for a sandwich-shop type place. empty Wonder Bread Bakery outlet on Manchester Rd. Its not in strip mall and somewhat a grittier commercial stretch which I see as a plus. Great access and parking. My culinary skills are lacking, but I sense a decent product here would be successful.

I just found out my neighbor, who owns Gooey Louie, will be on "Food Feuds".JL21 wrote:Awesome. "Food Feuds" or "Food Wars"? I know of "Food Wars" but I wasn't sure if there's another show.planet pujolsian wrote:They just filmed a spot for "Food Feuds" on the Food Network between Pappy's Smokehouse and 17th St. Bar and Grill over their ribs. Should air next month.
They're both very good. The magic dust (or whatever it's called) at 17th St. is fantastic. But I think it's a no-contest. Pappy's is head and shoulders above 17th Street, IMO. And 17th St. is head and shoulders above all the other BBQ's I've had here.

That place looks [expletive] awesome. Even the shakes sound good.JL21 wrote:Whoa. And they have Juicy Lucies? I'm there.

Never been to 17th Street, but Pappy's is pretty damn good. I'd have it as 2nd best BBQ I've had behind Oklahoma Joe's, which is in a class by itself. It's on Bourdain's list of 13 places to eat before you die and probably the only one I'll ever eat at.

I live like right down the street from an Oklahoma Joe's but have only ever eaten there once, and I only happened to even be there because me and my friend, in the role of wingman, were trying to find a girl that worked there that I wanted to bang. I don't even remember how the food was, I guess I should go back...cardsfansince82 wrote:Never been to 17th Street, but Pappy's is pretty damn good. (The girl wasn't working that day.)
