No way. Looks to me like father time is catching up with him. He looked very beatable in his last fight, as well.

Of course, he'll probably blast some dude's face off in 10 seconds next time out.

If he fights Overeem it might be the other way around.

I'd be lying if I said I knew much about Overeem. What's his style?

Overeem is primarily a striker who's fought in K-1 in addition to MMA. He has some solid Ground N' Pound in addition to just being a kickboxer.

Dutch kickboxer with K-1 level striking. His knees are deadly in the clinch/muay thai plum. He has an average ground game with a very solid guillotine choke. Alistair started his career at Light Heavyweight in the Pride organization but has packed on a considerable amount of muscle, and subsequent rumblings of steroid usage, since his decision to move to Heavyweight full time.

Michael Kirkham died early Monday following his professional MMA debut this past Saturday on a pro and amateur card in Aiken, S.C.
Kirkham becomes the second fighter to pass away due to causes from a regulated MMA fight in the US.

Thanks for the rundown guys. Christ, he's a scary looking dude. My buddies and I primarily get all the UFC cards but very few of the alternate organization stuff. I'll keep an eye out for the next Overeem fight.

Ya know, and this might sound callous, I'm a little surprised the # is that low. A shame, no doubt.

Hopefully an autopsy will give clues to what happened to Kirkham. If I had to guess a brain anomally wasn't caught before the fight. This should force the S.C. athletic commission into more stringent pre-fight testing. Like the CT scan given by the New Jersey Commission that caught Thiago Alves' Arteriovenous malformation.

Bummer. Did he at least make an ass out of himself again so my hatred of him can at least fester?
(I didn't see it)
