This is closest thing to Cubs winning something since Theo! came. Let them enjoy the moment. Lord knows they pay enough to have a day like this.

If there were a season in which the Cubs easily won the division, how would the new manager handle a couple of weeks lay off before the playoffs began? Would he rest the players enough, too much, or too little?

Well, as long as we're not throwing around ridiculous generalizations or anything...

So, I guess you don't have to comb your f*****g hair before you appear at a press conference for the Cubs.
Seriously, I've seen that same look on someone who's a patient in a hospital that's been rolled out in a wheel chair to do an interview while wearing a robe over his pajamas.

PHOENIX -- Both the Chicago Cubs and the agent for new manager Joe Maddon have been contacted by major league baseball as an investigation into his hiring is underway, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The New York Post reported earlier on Monday that baseball was looking into if the Cubs contacted Maddon before he opted out of his contract with the Tampa Bay Rays late last month. Days later he signed a 5-year deal to manage the Cubs.
Both the agent, Alan Nero, and Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer, had little new to say about the situation at the general manager's meetings in Arizona as both have repeatedly denied the accusation.
"It's embarrassing," Nero said.
Previously, Nero was adamant there was no tampering involved.
"(Cubs President) Theo (Epstein) would not even have talked unless he got clearance from the commissioner's office," Nero said recently. "It's silly to suggest that (tampering), if they want to pursue that, that's fine."
Hoyer added a "no comment" on Monday and stands by what Epstein said last week in denying the notion at Maddon's introductory press conference.
"It's just wholly inaccurate," Epstein said at the time. "There's nothing to it. If we keep seeing stuff in print, then we're going to respond at some point. For now, we'll just take it day-by-day. But there was absolutely no tampering whatsoever."
