Looks like nobody's gonna sign Ichiro, which is sad, because Ichiro is awesome.

Ah, the September "what if" game.
What if we signed that free agent? What if the ump called that one pitch a strike that one game? What if the team didn't get off to a sluggish start? What if the team moved on from Jhonny sooner? What if the team had called Tommy Pham up earlier?
Axisa isn't necessarily wrong, but you can play that game all day with so many things.

He's also playing it in February, not September. Axisa also said he thinks it was a mistake for the Cardinals not to sign another starting pitcher.

Agreed Hoot. I say that constantly when the team blows a game in horrible fashion during April and people act like it's no big deal. Well, they would sure like to have a couple of those bad loses back each of the past two years now wouldn't they!

I agree with this, and while I don't expect STL to be the answer, I really wonder where Arrieta, Lynn and Cobb will land.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Axisa also said he thinks it was a mistake for the Cardinals not to sign another starting pitcher.

It’s kinda wild how none of those 3 have been signed yetmikechamp wrote:I agree with this, and while I don't expect STL to be the answer, I really wonder where Arrieta, Lynn and Cobb will land.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Axisa also said he thinks it was a mistake for the Cardinals not to sign another starting pitcher.

I'm sure if he wants to continue playing he could get signed to a Japanese team in a heartbeat.heyzeus wrote:Looks like nobody's gonna sign Ichiro, which is sad, because Ichiro is awesome.

He would. He's said he'd like to stay in the MLB though.JoeMcKim wrote:I'm sure if he wants to continue playing he could get signed to a Japanese team in a heartbeat.heyzeus wrote:Looks like nobody's gonna sign Ichiro, which is sad, because Ichiro is awesome.
I'm sure if he can't get signed at all, he'll move on.
