Heh. Ryan Franklin ranks up there with Veres and Izzy in blowing saves and earning bad vibes from me when I was a far more emotional fan than I am now.

For his work that he did in interim during the regular season; yeah, Franklin deserves a ring. But I wouldn't bestow it on him if I had the final call.

I'm glad he is getting one. I felt so sorry for him - mentally.

This may sound crazy, but Franklin should get a ring. He did contribute (had 1 save), and since we barely squeaked in, he helped get us to the WS, as weird as that sounds. Plus, in a weird way, he and other guys had to suck in order for us to make the trade that saved us 30 times down the stretch and in the postseason.

But I mostly logged on just because as I was getting ready for bed, it hit me again, our Cards just won the flippin world series people! WOOOO!!!

Franklin has been a great player, an All-Star, and an excellent teammate. Unfortunately he lost it this year, and its not really his fault he was trotted out to close games so often when he couldn't execute pitches. It was evident to everyone he just didn't have it anymore. He's rendered a lot of service to this club and deserves a ring.

BTW whose tony hugging immediately after Craig catches the ball? Is that Boggs?

I'm really glad he got a WS ring with us. It's kind of funny we've taken players like Larry Walker and Lance Puma and they've womwhat become more cemented with the Cardinals than the ones they spent most of their careers with, Puma with the ring and Walker being involved with the Cardinals as a coach. I think once the reality of this WS sets in people generations from now will remember Berkman more for this team and his game six hit than his entire Astro's career. If I was getting a 2011 WS jersey I'd probably get Berkman's, although we kind of have different body types.
